Patch 26.16Sketch

Counter Pantheon

The opponents who give Pantheon trouble, and how to handle each one.

Where these numbers come from

They are pulled from the mode's own files for patch 26.16, the one currently live. The source is community-run rather than an official Riot API, and the game shifts with community votes, so a gap with your own game is always possible.

Malphite
Malphite

Shard of the Monolith

Nightmare

He buys armor on his first back and his passive shield soaks exactly the kind of poke you offer. Your spear turns into a tickle, your leap stops scaring him, and he slows you to keep you sitting under a turret. Your only window is before the armor lands, so force trades from level one, recharge your block on minions and take the advantage immediately. After that, stop banging your head against the lane: shove the wave and use Grand Skyfall to win the other two.

Dr. Mundo
Dr. Mundo

The Madman of Zaun

Hard

You clearly beat him early, then he takes back every point of health you removed. His cleaver lets him harass without spending mana while you drain your blue bar. Play the first levels hard, leap when he misses a throw, and try to kill him before his health pool arrives. Buy healing reduction early if you want kills to still be possible later. Past the midgame stop hunting the duel, he survives your entire sequence and beats you in melee.

Jax
Jax

Grandmaster at Arms

Even

A lane decided by levels: you own it early, he eats you later. The detail that matters is his counter stance, which dodges your basic attacks and stuns you exactly when you're glued to him. Never leap in right after he jumps to a minion, wait for the stance to drop. Poke with the spear at maximum range where it does nothing for him, and refuse extended fights. If you haven't taken the tower before his first big item, treat the lane as over and go play elsewhere.
