Patch 26.16Sketch

Counter Jarvan IV

The opponents who give Jarvan IV trouble, and how to handle each one.

Where these numbers come from

They are pulled from the mode's own files for patch 26.16, the one currently live. The source is community-run rather than an official Riot API, and the game shifts with community votes, so a gap with your own game is always possible.

Lee Sin
Lee Sin

The Blind Monk

Nightmare

He's waiting at your first camp and he wins that duel until you own a real item. Contest nothing before your ultimate: clear your own side, ward your jungle entrance and let him waste time looking for you. When you gank, come from the front and hold the lance until he has already used his dash, otherwise he takes it back off a ward and walks out. In fights, Cataclysm is there to stop him leaving, not to open on him.

Shaco

The Demon Jester

Hard

The duel isn't the problem, the problem is that he's in your jungle before you've taken a single camp. Start on the side your team can help, ask for a level one escort, and put your vision on entrances rather than on camps. In a duel his clone bleeds your combo dry: wait until you see which one takes damage before you plant the flag. Cataclysm stops him cold if you cast it after his stealth, never before.

Amumu
Amumu

The Sad Mummy

Even

Two initiators who want the same ground, and whoever presses second wins. He beats you in a lined-up teamfight, you beat him everywhere else because you arrive faster and gank better before level six. Contest his lower jungle while he clears slowly. In a fight, let him engage first, then drop the arena around him once his snare is gone: without it he has nothing left to stop you leaving with your team.
