Javelin Toss is maxed first with no discussion: it is the only ability that wins the lane from range, and every rank raises what you take from an opponent who cannot answer. Primal Surge comes second, because its heal and attack speed keep you in lane while the other side walks home. Liandry's Torment and Rylai's Crystal Scepter work as a pair: the slow makes your spear far easier to land and keeps the burn item ticking on a target that can no longer disengage. Movement speed quintessences stack with your bush passive and turn your lane-to-lane movement into a standing threat. Zhonya's Hourglass replaces an offensive item as soon as an assassin starts hunting you, and Hextech Gunblade earns a slot if you genuinely intend to fight in cougar form.
