Gangplank is the only toplaner who earns gold farming from range, and everything is built around that. Max Parrrley first: every minion finished with the pistol pays bonus gold and refunds part of the mana, which funds your lead without you needing to win a single trade. Trinity Force rewards a champion who alternates spells and auto attacks, and its movement speed covers his total lack of mobility. Atma's Impaler paired with Warmog's Armor is the combination that makes you hard to kill while converting that health into damage. Remove Scurvy deserves early ranks against any opponent whose plan rests on one long crowd control: it cleanses that control as well as healing you, which is often worth a whole item.
